Aai Mata
Shri Aai Mata ji was an incarnation of the goddess Ambe Maa (Jagdambe Maa - आई माता जी का अवतार), born in 1415 (Vikram Sanvat 1472). Ambe Maa appeared to Rao Bika Dhabi in a dream, informing him that she would incarnate as his daughter. After this dream, she was found in a garden in Ambapur (Gujarat) - in India -, by Rao Bika Dhabi, who adopted her. He named her "Jiji" (meaning sister), who later on came to be known as Aai Mataji. She was famous for her beauty and her helpful nature. == Early life == After the incarnation, during her childhood days, she miraculously helped poor people whose lives were in danger, and was revered by people. Meanwhile, Mahmud Shah Khilji Malwa Sultanate was Mughal King of Mandu (Malwa) M.P. He was very a rude king and, when he heard about the beauty of Jiji, decided to marry her. One day, Mahmud Shah called Rao Bika Dhabi (father of Jiji) to propose to his daughter, Rao Bika Dhabi reluctantly goes to Jiji with the proposal put forth by Khilji, Jiji understood the undesirable situation in which Rao Bika Dhabi was put by Khilji. Jiji told her father to accept his marriage proposal, with the condition that marriage will be as per Hindu tradition and custom. The king was surprised that how Bika Dhabi would arrange food for so many people (in Hindu tradition, the bride's family has to give a party to all people who come with the groom). Jiji arranged food for thousands of people from a small hut. The king was very keen to know her secret. He saw Jiji in the hut, in her original divine form. He promised Jiji that he would not be a rude king and would always be a good ruler. He made a large temple of Ambe Maa in Ambapur. Jiji became very famous for her divine miracles, After some years, she started travelling towards Rajasthan with a young bull.
